Growing Double Digits, Sharia Economic Sector Experiences Extraordinary Development
EKISPEDIA.COM - In the midst of sluggish global economic conditions due to the pandemic and inflation, the sharia economic sector in Indonesia is experiencing extraordinary growth of up to double digits.
This was revealed by the President Commissioner of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk and Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of PP MES, Muliaman D. Hadad when opening the VI National Conference (Munas) at Plaza Mandiri, Jalan Jenderal Gatot Subroto, South Jakarta, Saturday (30/9) .
Muliaman said that the growth of financing or credit and also funding of sharia banks experienced extraordinary growth. The reason is that if the average economic growth trend is only one digit, currently the sharia economy in Indonesia through the Halal Value Chain (HVC) has a growth rate of up to double digits.
"We need to be grateful, sharia financial institutions in general during the first semester of 2023 are running well, even double digit growth," he said.
He detailed three sharia economic sectors that managed to record double-digit growth, namely the processing industry which grew 18.32 percent yoy amounting to IDR 35,201 billion.
Then in the agriculture, hunting and forestry sectors, namely 46.12 percent yoy, worth IDR 25,692 billion. Lastly, the sector providing accommodation and providing food and drink grew 16.39 percent amounting to IDR 5,558 billion.
Apart from that, Muliamin also added that the sharia economy through HVC has contributed to 25 percent of National GDP.
